60 Minutes For The Future by Alwinder Singh

KUALA LUMPUR, Mac 23 - The 88-floors of the Petronas Twin Towers, supported the Earth Hour 2013 campaign by switching off the lights in stages for an hour starting 8.30 P.M to save the earth from climate change last Saturday.


Bright to Dark : Kuala Lumpur in support to the Earth Hour
     Malaysian iconic building, the Petronas Twin Towers was one of the first buildings in the city center to switch of the lights. Thousands of people gathered around the twin-tower to watch the lights turn off in stages. It was followed by many other building and residences around Kuala Lumpur.

   
     The Earth Hour 60 Minutes campaign was organised by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) in Sydney, Australia in 2007. Today it is know as the world's largest campaign supported by more than 7,000 cities in 150 countries and territories. Their are hundreds of millions of people switching off their lights for one hour, on the same night, to signal their care to the planet they live in. This campaign is organised to raise awareness about the need to act on the climate change.

     The night was completed by many performance from the well known boyband, Backstreet Boys, and many local artist like Miss Nina, Shawn Lee and many more in front of the Suria KLCC in conjunction with the Earth Hour.
